]No it wasn't. For example: alt.linux.redhat is for redhat-specific

Sure it is redhat specific. If you really mean that a redhati group should only
discuss topic that are unique to redhat and are contained in no other
distribution, then the redhat discussion group would be very small
indeed-- maybe just a discussion about Redhat's IP policies.
]If you don't follow me, perhaps you follow this: the Linux kernel has
]been designed by Linus Torvalds. That doesn't mean that you should
]news about Linux in a designer's newsgroup.
