If you are afraid of trying something just because you don't know
what icon is going to show up, you'll have a big problem exploring
the world of computers.

If you really are afraid you're going to mess things up, create a
second user account. With that account, you won't be able to alter
any system settings, nor mess anything from your primary account. If
the user's settings get messed up, just delete the user's homedir and
create it again, and start from the beginning. Then find out why
things got messed up, so you know not to do that any more.

The problem with the world is stupidity. Not saying there should be a
capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the
safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
