You want ISO images.

Option 1:
http://www.knoppix.net
Download the ISO, burn it to a CD as an image (I can't stress that enough.
If you end up with a CD with "<whatever>.iso" on you've done it wrong),
make sure your BIOS is set up to boot from CD, put your new Knoppix CD in
the CD drive and reboot. Hey presto, a working Linux system that won't
touch your HDD.
Option 2:
Knoppix can be install to hard disk but for other ISOs of other distros try:
