That is the biggest bull*** I've ever heard. First of all, your logic
is obviously based on the fact that Pentium for has less performance per
cycle than P3 and Athlon. However, the Pentium 4 was designed, and runs
at a significantly higher clock speed than both the Pentium 3 and Athlon.

Also, performance is based on both the chip architechture AND the clock
speed the chip runs at. That is, a 2 ghz P4 will be faster than 1 ghz
P4. It is therefore ludicris to make a blanket statement like "Pentium 4
is slower than Athlon." An Athlon XP 3000+ will beat a 1.4ghz P4 any day.

Finally, a Pentium 4 and an Athlon of around the same class will have
around the same performance. A modern Pentium 4 will also beat a Pentium
3 any day of the week.
