Yes, i typed wrong: it wasn't mode, but modem

The file is:

eciadsl-usermode-0.8-1.i386.rpm

what does it means to you?

There is a description about the installation on the website where i
downloaded
it, but it wasn't enough helpful, because probably i 'm new to linux and
need
to practise.

I looked now on the internet for the usage of "dmesg". Now i must try it.
