They are very different OSes. Unix/Linux was built from the beginning
with a focus on security. That makes it tough for viruses to dump a
damining payload. However, as Linux becomes more popular, I suspect
anti-virus utilities will be a concern. Not sure about the defrag,
but I know that Unix will start checking the drive integrity all by
itself. Windows OS is very fragile compared to Unix/Linux. I
suspect that is one reason for the increased interest in Linux,
especially for servers and systems that require lots of reliability.
