Hi there,
I've been trying to compile an i386 2.6.1 kernel on my Opteron
machine. At first I started by doing "make ARCH=i386 menuconfig" and
specifying the processor type (i386) and I thought it would go ahead
normally (ha!). Keep in mind that this is a very simple kernel,
nothing fancy in the configuration.
In any case, that simple compilation just resulted in an error. I've
also tried building a cross-compile toolchain but it didn't work
either...
Can anyone give me a step-by-step on how I would resolve this
compiling problem? Has anyone tried to do it?
Thanks,
Phil
