David told us about what makes the difference between the 2 OSes.
If I were you, I would offer Windows hosting only if people ask for it.
This is not because we don't like the system that the customer doesn't
either. Business is all about money, and as long as you tell them that
Linux is better in terms of security, performance and usage for the end
user, then the customer subscribes for what HE thinks is better. If the
customer's used to .NET technology, well, you shouldn't consider him as a
foe, but just that he has a different way of seeing things, and that he
can help you grow your business because he pays you each month for hosting
his web site.

Of course. Professionals, people who depend on the Internet for their
business will more tend to a Unix based web server. They don't want their
home page to be tagged with dead skulls on a monday morning.

People who don't care that much or who just have more knowledge in Windows
will choose it because they think it's fine for them, or don't thing
security is that important.

If I were you, I would also offer FreeBSD webhosting. It's even better
than Linux in terms of response vs. queries. Major websites such as
Hotmail, Microsoft, Yahoo, Sony have FreeBSD robust servers.

I guess you want to learn all system administration and security for your
web hosting business.

Best of luck,
