Hmmm. I will try that; however, that is not really a solution for me.
Why? I am trying to test an out-of-the-box configuration of Linux,
(and I would prefer a RedHat distro**), because I want to make sure all
the "stuff" works correctly for a classroom situation I will be in in a
coupla months. I will not have the "recompile package X" option for the
software installed in the classroom.
So, with that in mind, I'd like to generalize my question a bit more:
How has Apache been for folks using Fedora Core 1?
Are there any quirks I should be aware of?
Does Apache + PHP + MySQL Just Work(TM) with no additional tweaking? (I
know it does on RHL9)
My concern is that RHL9 will be at "end-of-life" when I teach the class
and I would like to know if I can go with Fedora reliably.
Thanks!!
** In fact, I have no real choice -- it *will* be a RedHat distro.
So please don't recommend SuSE or Mandrake or whatever, thanks!
