hello,
since a few days i have problems with get minolta pagepro 1100 working which
cannot be overcome.
using slackware: 9.1
kernel: 2.4.25
cups: cups-1.1.19-i486-3
dmesg | grep parport:
parport0: PC-style at 0x378 [PCSPP,TRISTATE]
parport0: Printer, MINOLTA Minolta PagePro 1100L
lp0: using parport0 (polling).
i got the driver from:
http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Minolta-PagePro_1100
tried pxlmono, hpijs
/etc/cups/printer.conf
<DefaultPrinter minolta>
Info
Location
DeviceURI parallel:/dev/lp0
State Idle
Accepting Yes
JobSheets standard none
QuotaPeriod 0
PageLimit 0
KLimit 0
</Printer>
furthermore i don't understand the output of cat /dev/lp0
cat: /dev/lp0: Input/output error
error_log is not illuminating (even in level debug)
after attempting to print a test-page with cups, either the printjob is kept
in spool, or "device is bussy".
sometime the printer-led starts to blink. but there wasn't any output yet.
even echo "test" > /dev/lp0 won't output anything.
lsmod
Module Size Used by Not tainted
parport_pc 15972 1 (autoclean)
lp 6944 0 (autoclean)
parport 25600 1 (autoclean) [parport_pc lp]
i hope you have enoug informations and could give assistance.
thank you!!
andy
