myself... how can i do that ??

the file i found.. is it i need to download the file and upload it
back after edited by using ssh ??? if that is the way, how could i
download and upload it then ?? is there any shell command i can use
to download or upload the file to server ??
because when i use ftp programme, i just cant get to the directory i
