You do have a point here. I just re-read his original mail, he does
make a reference to knowing that there is an update for xmms. This is a
little ambiguous...was he referring to a mandrake updated rpm or xmms
have released a new version? (Not splitting hairs, I'm actually asking
that people are more specific, Harry).

Agreed, I've seen and reacted to this also. Bashing something you don't
understand is incredibly annoying. I think Harry came across
wrong/didn't quite put his thoughts down as he intended, instead of out
and out bashing. He did point out some good things about MDK 10. (I
personally am surprised he found any, lol jk). He does also mention
attempting to run an update, but something being incorrect in the
package manager preventing an upgrade.

It doesn't happen in droves, but people do leave when the odd elitest
gets their hands on them and treats them like they just crawled out of
the ocean.

Heh heh, He'll have no choice but to install the latest package Gentoo
has available. The other beauty is, Gentoo is "live" and the packages
internet based, therefore, more up to date. This actually solves the
problem, hahaha.

I agree here. People who expect to be spoonfed upset me a great deal
and usually get a tongue lashing from me. I agree with you Dan, walking
the fine line of being helpful while encouraging people to help
themselves is tough. So many don't appreciate that if they learn how to
learn, they'll get on much faster and be a lot more productive, and more
importantly, RETAIN the information.

No problem. No hard feelings I hope.
