Well, I said it a little too soon. Still have problems. I was able to
boot with the disc, get past the driver loading and then when it asked for
the Core CDs, I put in the original core cds and the install seemed like it
went fine. Then, when was finished with the install, it would not boot,
it hangs right after the AIC7xxx driver is loaded and the last it shows is
the blk: line and something about I/O limit 4096MB. Is there a problem
installing on an 18 GB drive or the size of partitions used in the install.
I let it use the defaults it suggested in the auto partition section. I'm
stumped again but not giving up yet. Or did I somehow need to incorporate
that iso and replace the Core CD kernel with the stuff from the iso on the
web page I got the L440GX fix from?

Lost again.
