No, YOU ASSUMED I neither had or gave a clue about what I was running.
I knew well what I was trying to run and it was Fedora Core 1. The
comment was about the only version I could get to run on the L440GX was
Linux 7. Excuse the incomplete description, but I started the post with
"I'm a newbie to Linux" and the responses to my incomplete description
were at best immature. The helpful response would have been, "Can you
clarify Linux 7. Which version/Developer". And your "will not boot is
just lame" is no better. It's a childish response. I don't believe
there is anyone here who would respond to this post to my face in person
with any of the remarks, especially if they were in business. The way I
se it is you guys are experts and we come here for help, not immature
responses. I've been in technical sales a long time and my job is to
let the customer vent and not respond with "LAME" responses like you
people give. Over sensitive is an understatement and missing a couple
of other adjectives.

And that is the problem. Engineers are generally more concerned with
appearing to be intelligent and spend more time trying to convince
people of that instead of actually asking questions and trying to help
people. And don't even try the "group coddling" comment. Look at the
questions from the newbies on this group and see if there is no
coddling. The problem here was my question was above most of the people
who bothered to respond to this. There was only one person who really
had a clue and that was "Forrest" who replied to my first post on 4/9 at
6:40 pm. I tried several times to post and get more help after that
original post and his suggestion did not work. When I got no responses,
I purposely titled the post and got lots of responses. Most were as I
expected...no help at all. Your arrogance hinders your ability to be
humble and help those who need it, newbie or not.
