Amazing-- I just came from Best Buy where I purchased Unreal Tournament
2004 ($39.95); on the side of the box the required operating system list
included the standard Win98/XP/etc. but to my amazement Linux was also
listed! The commercially boxed game lists Linux as suitable for the
install -- hopefully a trend of things to come. I like the idea of buying
software that is supportive of Linux, like Unreal Tournament; and hardware
such nVidia graphics cards since nVidia is highly supportive of Linux.
I got the 2-DVD set for Unreal Tournament, though it is also available in
a 6-CDROM set. One of the DVDs is purely tutorials, several hours worth,
on strategies for the game, etc. The working demo, 500MB, is fantastic,
10/10, I can not wait to install and play the full 5 GIGAbytes commercial
game!
