Well, you can blame uncle Bill for that or perhaps the scores of educational
institutes who are training kids on using Windows. Uncle Bill did not get
out to teach people about using computers, but he bought and upgraded an OS
to make using them easy. And it worked, sort of, by using a combination of
marketing power, good deals and by being easy at all. Linux/BSD/*nix are not
easy, require a steeper learning curve and confront most users with things
they do not want to be confronted with. So, for all of us who have outgrown
Windows, please be patient to newbies. Most will respond favorably with a
little help, and if not, then at least we have shown ourselves mature
computer users.
