Hmm, I've always equated free software with socialism. It truly is a socialist
system that actually works to some extent.

It's interesting how you split it into two camps. I'd have to agree there are
a lot of varying motivations within the OSS world.

Perhaps I fall into the "anarchist" camp. Funny how a hobbyist OS is actually
giving MS a run for its money.

When you think about it, linux has a good chance. MS didn't come out with a
decent NT until the mid nineties. Everyone points to MS Windows as the big
star, but they were a simple desktop and workstation OS for many years. Hell
they sold Unix through SCO in the eighties.
