suse 9.0 install problems

I've recently installed several versions experimentally on my computer. I
ahve the full personal version of suse 9.0 so i installed it. I think
overall its great but most of the time when Im booting up it doesnt seem to
activate my keyboard so i cant type in a password HELP.

Ive installed mandrake 10.0 with no problems and i've used knoppix but this
frustrates me '
