Hi all,
I purchased SuSE V9.1 Pro. I partitioned my drive with PartMagic...and
installed SuSE.
SuSE boots up fine ....no problems....but XP does not want to boot. It gives
the following error:
root (hd 0,0)
Filesystem type unknown, partition type 0x7
chainloader +1
The computer stops at this point....
I downloaded the file parted.img.gz and created a floppy image as described
on the SuSe pages.
I created 2 floppy's, one from Windows (rawrite) and one from Unix..(just to
make sure)
I ran the procedure for the installation of the "partition fix", but it
gives a message "No drivers need to be updated" or something like that.
I can read all the data on the NTFS filesystem from Linux. What is the
problem here please?
I also tried changing the disk access mode in the BIOS from AUTO to LBA, but
when booting Windows, it wants to do an installation. Linux works fine.
I previously ran Fedora and XP quite nicely together. What else can I try
before getting another hard drive.
Much appreciated.
