Hi Steve,

I've got a 3Ware 8-port RAID controller. I've noticed a latency of say
1/2 sec every time I access the drive. Actually I notice it whenever
I access the drive after a certain amount of inactivity. I can't figure
it out. Is there some latency in the cache or something?

I'm thinking of moving over to software RAID. Just use the 3Ware are
an eight-port IDE controller. What a disappointment!
