Hi,
I've got a 80 GB Seagate Barracuda IV HD and it's been randomly freezing
for some months. Sometimes, my PC is completely "frozen" and the HD led
is constantly lit.
Here's the output of dmesg | grep hdb:
hdb: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdb: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
It seems to have major problems but what puzzles is that I tried the
Seagate diagnosis utility and it didn't find any bad blocks and the
SMART info is OK too.
Do you think that HD is doomed to drop the bucket soon or what?
