The latest response from sourceforge.net :

"Some details which you might not have considered:

- SourceForge.net is using Fedora in a server capacity, not
as a desktop platform.

- Major updates to the Fedora platform are being performed
on a regular schedule. The delay between Woody and Sarge
was quite significant.

- SourceForge.net staff are already using Fedora for a
number of supporting roles; we have not experienced any of
the general instability you are citing.

- Our services are currently supported by a mix of RHEL (Red
Hat Enterprise Linux) and Fedora. Both are RPM-based
distributions, which makes our maintenance burden much smaller.

This is not a complete list of our reasons for this
migration, but highlights some of the key issues at work
here. We have considered this move carefully; this is based
on a significant amount of systems administration and
distribution expertise within our team.

Thank you,"
