RS6000 H50 and SSA

Hi All

We have an old pair of IBM RS600 H50 servers with a shared SSA disk
subsystem. This system will soon be redundant and it has been suggested
that maybe it could be redeployed as a Linux system.
So,

Is this hardware supported by linux?

If it is can anyone name a distribution that will run on these machines?

Has anyone here had experience of running Linux on this type of hardware?
