Linspire 5 grub

Hello this is the problem I have. I am running Win XP pro on a Pentium 111 /
733mz with 256 ram. 2 hdd @ 80gig and 10 gig. I have downloaded Linspire 5
iso and burnt to cd and checksum is ok. I have installed this on the 10 gig
drive and all appears ok till reboot to start up. I get the message
grub loading stage 1.5.
grub loading please wait
error 17
a flashing cursor but cant type anything.
This is most probably something simple but I am not that well up on Linux.
could I use a floppy to boot into Linspire?.
Help would be appreciated
