Thanks for taking the time to respond - I think the majority of readers
probably rolled their eyes muttering 'stupid', but at least your
response means I can clarify a little. :-)

I used the word 'root' incorrectly: this is the account associated with
the domain in a reselling environment (CPANEL) and is thus the primary
email address (and so can't to my knowledge, be removed without
rebuilding this re-sold account completely on the server, which I'd
like to avoid).

I'd actually like to transfer the message store heirarchy from one
account to another, and would like to know why, even though the file
system looks very similar when viewed through a terminal (in terms
permissions), a copied system will not work.

I can understand your frustration at the naive, uneducated, at, quite
correctly stupid at times! :-) Nonetheless, I think your reply was a
little unpolite and feel you could have given the same information
without being quite as offensive.

Regardless, I do thank for your time, and look forward to any other
light you may be able to shed on this situation.
