That's what I thought too. I bought a SMC card, of a type that was
supported according to the Linux kernel documentation. What they
failed to mention, was that only version 1 was supported, and only
versions 2 and 3 are being sold now, at least in my area. With partial
information like that, it's still a guessing game.
Sure, other websites gave me this information, but I assumed the
kernel documentation would be accurate, at least when it comes to
hardware compatability. Now we know it isn't.
