One thing we have found at work is about hyperthreading is that it is a
windows thing and doesn't play very well with anything else period. We
have had to go back and disable hyperthreading on almost all of our
server bank. You might try just fro giggles getting into your bios and
disabling the hyperthreading and see how the performance is then.
