these days, you will receive an RAV (Request-for-Address-Validation).

This is to make sure that the address is not being used by a spammer or
worse.

(Yes, they COULD use your address -- This sort of thing happens ALL the
time.)

Just hit Reply, paste the password on the Subject line and send it off.

This is a ONE-TIME thing.

Only plain-text messages less than 20k will make it through the filters.
