Help Openoffice and editing/moving/selecting of Hyperlink in document

I am trying to get a talk ready for a conference and am using OpenOffice
Presentation manager. Part of the talk is showing mpegs which I do using
mtv. That all works fine. But suddenly I can not edit or move the hyperlink
buttons in the document.
I have two versions of the document. In the older one, I can create a
hyperlink and select it and move it around, grow it, etc. In the new one I
cannot select the hyperlink at all. All that happens when I try to select
it is that it plays the mpeg. Pushing tab does not select it (it selects
other things on the page but not that hyperlink). IF I select all, then the
whole batch can be moved as one, but that is clearly NOT what I want.

How can two documents, opened with exactly the same version of Open Office

1.1.3 on Mandrake 10.1 behave so differently. How can I select those
hyperlinks to move them around?
