Linux Media player

Hi,

I have an old laptop that I would like to turn into a media player in
my living room.

It is an old tecra 8000 and I would like to put a decent media playing
application that can play

Mp3 (obviously)
Avi (divx and Xvid) encoded)
DVD's
mpegs

Does anyone have any suggestions for applications or ways of doing
this.

I will be streaming the content over wireless (11b, I have g on the
router but not the card)
