Hi,
I am new to linux, and have recently installed Slackware 10.1. I got
mono-project running, along with MySql & Apache 1.3 (pre-packaged).
I realized that mod_mono won't run on Apache 1.3, so I downloaded the
source for Apache 2, and then ./configured it.
The configuration locked up multiple times, causing the computer to
stop responding. But I kept rebooting & running it over and over until
if finally worked (I realize now how stupid that was). The same thing
happend when i ran "make". So now, when I try to start X, and MySql is
running, it hangs. And the last two times I re-booted, it stoped
responding even before the boot sequence completed.
So my question is this: is there any equivilent to the windows Event
Log, or where can I start looking to solve my problems?
Did I need to un-install Apache 1.3 before installing 2, or is it
possible that this is actually a hardware problem?
I'm not sure if this is the right group or not, if not, please point me
in the right direction.
Thanks,
Jeremy
