Compatibility: CanoScan D660U & Brother HL-2030 ?

I am thinking of buying these two items (second hand) and have checked
out the Linux compatibility database (Debian). There I found similar
but not exact matches to these models indicating that Linux probably
supports them.

Does anyone out there have any experience with either of these? Any
tips or comments would help me in my decision to buy them (or not).

Or maybe you have the URL of a better 'compatibility list'?
