Re: Where to begin Linux Administration?

Thank you so much for your reply Alan. I forgot to mention that I have been running Linux for about 7 years as a user. I could not have much chance to learn about admin stuff. This is why I am planning to move to new server.
Thanx for your answer though.

You could always try WebMin, this is a web based bunch of scripts that gives you a graphical tool for most administrative tasks that runs on Apache (or it's own mini-webserver)
Some people will say it is crap, but if configured correctly it's a good tool for beginners IMO..

About your book/course. Try: http://rute.2038bug.com/index.html.gz

This one is pretty OK though, to learn you some things about scripts, and the Linux/Unix way in general. There is also a piece about bind in it if I recall it right :-)

But for most (specific) issues it's best you Google, and in many cases you'll stumble upon some sort of turorial/guidelines.

Thank you so much for your answer Wimmy. The document you mentioned covers everything I was wondering about.
Thanx again.
