Profanity aside, I did an interesting experiment. I created a text file
called a.txt in a particular directory. Then I renamed it to b.txt, then I
moved it to a different directory. Then I copied it to c.txt.
I did further tests. What I found was that every action you take on the
machine is logged in that registry and no record is ever removed except at
the hand of a registry cleaner. Like you said, its no wonder, that after
awhile, the bloat slows things more and more. I have a cleaner program but
it isn't very smart about getting rid of this rubbish. Along with the
rubbish it removes the icons for explorer as well as other stuff that is
needed.
