Re: Considering switch to linux

I have a GNOME desktop - not KDE which is where your link sent me. As I mentioned, I am a Linux noob. What can be any clearer than that?

You said nothing about Gnome when you gave this royal piece of advice.
I don't either, because I'm not using gnome. Ask questions if you don't know, don't give advice on things you know nothing about. Period.

Speaking of clarity - there are quite a few others who are disatisfied with the clarity of fonts in Linux - check around.

And dissatisfied people (ignorant many of them) make you a guru?
OK you are the guru of all the dissatisfied people. Go and start claiming your rights as such.

I got my fonts better than yours, that's obvious, but it's probably because I've been asking some questions and looking for solutions and after finding them I've applied them.

When I installed my first Linux it did not go too well. I had no idea. But I still didn't give statements in these groups like Linux can not be installed. Linux don't work.

I really don't care what you think of Linux. Or anything. Just feel free to tell your opinion. But it's just an opinion. Not a great fact that can be stated as the truth.

The only facts from you so far is that you can not figure out virus protection and you can not make your fonts work. And that there are others like you out there. Many of them have no clue either. Some do and they'll have their problems solved eventually.

I suggest you just bury Joe727 deep and quiet and come back as a reborn newbie.
Then you ask all the questions and you'll get the answers.
Joe727 will get just crap from here from now on.
