America's Army overheating and shutdown

I recently installed America's Army on my Acer Aspire 1524 laptop running
kubuntu and it seems I can't play it for 10minutes straight without my
laptop shutting down due to overheating.

I run a couple of 3D-intense games both in linux and windows and I never got
a overheating crash. What is this all about? Is this a AA's problem or am I
missing out something?
