I have heard all these things said about the Linux OS and the people who
use it. Is there any truth in these rumours?

Since you indicated rumours, you know they are rumours.

Is anyone willing to discuss these allegations sensibly without just
posting a load of abuse and completely one sided debate?

No debate needed. Like you indicated, just myths and allegations.

If it was so insecure why are the anti-virus vendors having a poor
time making money from it. Remember you indicated it is a fine web server.

You have to admit Micro$oft is making money selling it's Anti-virus
software product for an insecure sysetm. Now there is an incentive for
Microsoft to fix the best malware magnet on the planet.
