Looking for a New Printer

Well, it looks like I am going to have to break down and buy a new printer
(at a time I can afford it the least :-( ). When I am facing surgical
copays and on a fixed disability pension, what can I say, but my budget is
tight.

My HP Deskdesk 3650, or should I say my ^~%$@+#_ Deskjet is beginning to
fail me after only a year of relatively light use. All of a sudden
instead of feeding the last half-inch or so of paper, it makes a series of
loud clanking sounds until the warning light starts flashing. Once I hit
the reset button it pauses, makes a single feeble clank, pauses again,
then procedes to cough up the last half inch of paper. This happens with
three-quarters of the sheets.

So, now I need a new printer that will work with my Mandriva, one that
will not give me all the fits my HP Deskjet gave, one that will be
affodable for someone on a tight budget. Does anyone have any suggestions?
