In that case, my apologies, we must have different programs installed
under the same name :-(

Strange enough my man page doesn't even know the "-a" switch as
expected the app doesn't know it either.

$ mail -a
mail: invalid option -- a

Mail belongs to the mailx package on my box:
$ rpm -qf `which mail`
mailx-8.1.1-31.EL3

Guess there are various versions and perhaps compiled different
on each distro?

However it's amazing enough that none in this thread thought about
