Does Kscd player work ? If not then the thought is,,,no audio cable

cd to sound card. You either need to put one in or enable direct digital

Neither Kscd nor xmms work (they pretend to, but no sound), but Amarok
does, so I'm happy with that. I don't play CDs often enough to warrant
fixing those first two.
