When my car breaks down, I don't automatically say all cars suck, I don't
automatically blame the electrical system.

You could be right or wrong, but if you mention the distros that didn't work
for your Tivo and be more specific, and some detail someone might have a fix
for it.

What is the rip off OS?

What is the linux guys? Solaris? FreeBSD? Some other distro?

One of the biggest challenges and blessings Linux faces is the plethora of
distros. It both breeds confusion about which to try, as well as a nice
choice of which to use if you don't like the looks of what you are using.

Will Linux take over? I dunno.

Obviously you are furious. Whatever it is, I hope it's resolved soon. There
is no fun in frustration, nor in flame wars.
