So what you're implying here is that Gnome doesn't do this?
GDM and KDM both do it, afaik. Why don't you actually check it out for
yourself, just take a little walk among the login manager's settings,
whichever one you're defaulting to? I'm sure you'll find other cool
stuff there while you're at it.
