Generally speaking, 'viruses, spyware and malware' do not infect
your machine at login. They are a result of internet use which is once you
have logged in. Graphical login screens are fine and the only loss of
security is that they reveal the names of the users but as a hacker would
know the name 'root' this is not a real issue. One of the things that
Windows does do is allow you to change the name of Administrator to
something else. All this is mote in reality as once physical security
(doors and locks) has failed logical security is irrelevant as the thief
can just take the machine to where ever they want and access all data
regardless i.e. take out the drive and mount it as slave on another system.
