What does 'echo $$DISPLAY' tell on the system you are starting
the X app?

it is just null..
i tried to set it to the ip of the client but client is also behind a
proxy.


I tried everything i cud, without any luck.
problem is that, the graphics are disables on the "via machine" (the
machine which resides in the middle)..I am not the sysad for that, so
cant enable it.

Whatever you mean with "graphics are disables"? It shouldn't
matter as long as X11forwarding isn't disabled from sshd.
sshd runs on the remote comp rt...I dont have access to change the
settings..
i dont know X11forwarding is enabled or not.
on my client i enabled it..
