the items in k menu are in part located in /usr/share/applications

but when I add myself an item with the K menu editor (by right clicking
the K button or somewhere in the menu) i do not know where it goes.
more over the file name is not the name defined in the K menu editor.
The menu editor is for making user specific changes to the system menu and those are placed in your ~/.kde/share/applnk directory.
