Oh it works if I do this:

xconsole -file /var/log/messages -daemon

The -display wb:0 indicated the display should go to the node wb

-geom 1032x50+400+00 sets where to set the line width, number of
lines and top left corner of display to show it.

man X for xwidget controls

you might try something like -fg white -bg seagreen

for color list showrgb
