I don't think that my xconsole is as sophisticated as all that. I do not
get options to set geometry in that manner with xconsole. man xconsole:

before trying the command. But you aught to try the command for grins.

That showrgb did show a big list of colors and that is pretty cool. No
need to go on about this, xconsole does work, it just does not seem to
be configurable like the one that you are using. I can still use it
though and will figure out a way to make it nicer as I need it.
That is why I gave you the fishing lesson. Just try the command
xconsole -geom 1032x50+400+00 -file /var/log/messages &
.
