Hi everybody!!!
First of all i have to apologize if my english is not very good. I hope
you'll understand me anyway. =)
I Have a little problem, i own an Acer TravelMate 212TXR and i was
searching for a Linux Distribution that's compatible with my Laptop. I
found on the web that SuSE 8.0 is the right distribution but i can't
find it. I searched a lot but since www.isolinux.org is closed i found
only the 10.1 version. My question are the following :
1 - Is there another site where i can download SuSE 8.0?
I can't find any site like this.
2 - In your opinion, with an HD of 10 GB and 120 MB of RAM, will my PC
slow down much if i try to install Windows and Linux on the same HD?
Installing other operating systems along with Windows will not change the speed of either operating system as they run one at a time so they don't conflict at all.
3 - If anyone knows another distro that is compatible with my laptop,
can he tell me what it is please?
You ask this question because your laptop has few or low resources?
If the amount of memory and hard drive space is ok as there are many small and fast Linux versions that work well on older hardware. I have seen where "damn small Linux, peanut Linux, and Puppy Linux and others seem to e tailored to older lower resource computers.
I have SuSE 8.2 iso file and I could put it on my server for you to download but I don't think it is really your answer to your query.
Thanks a lot, and forgive me again if my words are not clear but my
English knowledge is limited to what i studied at school.
Bye!! =)
