differencing file | union file
Is there a tool to allow for a "differencing disk" but for a file? If I had
a bad partition and I wanted to repair it, first I would create a disk image
of that partition. Second, I would try running some repair utilizes on that
image but I don't want to modify the original image in case the tool makes
the problem worse. I could make a copy of the original image but I don't
have enough hard drive space for two 200GB images (for example). I guess
what I'm asking is there a way to allow for a transaction for a file or have
changes saved to another file but have programs see the two files as one.
