I'll level with you, I think the best DVD ripper for any Linux
distribution is 'DVD Shrink' (Windows software) running under WINE.

I just haven't found something that matches it's features, simplicity,
and it-just-works ethos.

There are only a few pieces of Windows software worth keeping, EAC is
another one.
